The DNeasy UltraClean Microbial Kit is designed to isolate high quality genomic DNA from 1.8 ml of microbial culture. A variety of microorganisms including Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, yeast, and bacterial and fungal spores have been tested successfully with this kit. The microbial cells are added to a bead beating tube containing beads, bead solution and lysis solution. The principal is to lyse the microorganisms by a combination of heat, detergent, and mechanical force using an optimized bead beating tube. The cells are lysed using our specially designed Vortex Adapter on a Vortex Genie 2 Vortex. The released DNA is then bound to a silica spin filter, washed and the DNA is recovered in certified DNA-free Tris buffer.
